Mylan Brewer, Guest Contributor On Thursday, the Emory & Henry College Men’s Basketball Team travelled to Salem for the quarterfinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) tournament looking to keep their season alive. The Wasps came in the ODAC tournament as the #7 seed. E&H faced #2 seed Guilford College.
Luke Montalbano, Sports Writer After six seasons leading the helm of the Emory & Henry College men’s basketball program, head coach David Willson has decided to step down, and return to his high school alma mater Memphis University School to take over as the head basketball coach.
Will Davis, Sports Contributor After riding on a wave of momentum during their six-game win streak, the Emory & Henry College Men’s Basketball Team have now dropped their last two games. After reeling off six in a row, the Wasps’ lost to visiting Randolph College by a final score of 84-76. Senior forward Andrew Davis said, “Heading into Randolph myself and a few of my teammates were affected by sickness which did nothing to help our depth and morale during this stretch of games.”
Kashmon Jones, Sports Contributor David Willson is the current head coach for the Emory & Henry Wasp men’s basketball team. Willson was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee but attended college in Virginia. Willson graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 2004. It was also the same year Willson started his college coaching career being an assistant basketball coach at William & Mary. After his stint being an assistant coach for the Tribe, Willson was hired to be an assistant coach at Elon University. Wilson also worked for Furman College in the beginning of his career.www.elon.edu/
