Luke Montalbano, Sports Writer HARRISONBURG, Va.—The Emory & Henry Women’s Golf team traveled to Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, Virginia this week to compete in the Bridgewater Invitational. The Wasps were represented individually by senior Ashley Underwood (Strawberry Plains, Tennessee) and junior Chandler Thomas (Stony Creek, Tennessee). Both Thomas and Underwood set individual and team records this week.

Luke Montalbano, Sports Writer MOUNT BERRY, Ga.--Emory & Henry College Men’s Tennis Sophomores Brandon McGuire (Christiansburg, Virginia) and Archer Marlow (Oak Ridge, Tennessee) competed in the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) South Regional Championship hosted by Berry College. It was the first time since 2014 that the Wasps saw individuals compete in the regional championship.

Doc O’Neil, the head coach of the men’s rugby club at Emory & Henry says that one of the reasons that rugby is so popular is because it allows for both guys and girls to play a competitive sport in college—but not at the varsity level.
Cam Derr, Sports Editor KNOXVILLE, Tn.—The Emory & Henry Men’s Soccer team hit the road Wednesday for a non-conference matchup against Johnson University. The Royals scored first and held the lead 1-0 after Freshman Matheus Assuncao scored at the 11:25 minute mark. In the second half, E&H held possession of the ball for the majority of the half. The Wasps outshot the Royals 12-4. With the clock running out, Emory & Henry tied the game when Senior Mossimo Tager scored his fourth goal of the season.

The Wasps took a dominating 29-5 victory with ease, marking a great start to their season as they start out 1-0 in conference play.

First up was an intense, exciting match up against Sewanee. While the game was delayed due to lightning and there was cold rain in the first half, the weather didn’t stop the teams from going to head to head.

Brittany Hall, Sports Writer EMORY, Va.--Emory & Henry College Men's Soccer Team earned their first win of the season at home over Warren Wilson College this past Wednesday, improving their record to 1-1-1. Scoring off a header in the 35th minute was senior defender Massimo Tager. The assist for this goal was off a corner kick sent into the box by sophomore midfielder Ethan Taylor.
Luke Montalbano, Sports Writer EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry women’s soccer team had their home opener on Sunday as they hosted the Pride of Greensboro College. The Wasps started the season 1-0-1, with a tie at Brevard and a win at Averett. The Wasps would end up losing their first game of the season, as they would fall short to Greensboro 4-0.
