Chris Desalvo, Sports Writer EMORY, Va.- The Emory & Henry Women’s basketball team are in the midst of defending their home court in a 4-game home contest streak. On Friday, the Wasps played their third of these games against the Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels. This game was the first of the Comfort Suites Classic which lasted over the weekend. The Stormy Petrels are ranked No. 19th in NCAA Division III by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, but the Wasps executed to a tee.

Luke Montalbano, Sports Writer EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry Football team hosted Ferrum College in this year’s Crooked Road Classic. The Wasps would honor their 18 seniors as this was the last game of their collegiate careers. The seniors ended their college football careers with a 59-36 win over their arch-rival Ferrum.

Marigrace Grow, Sports Writer EMORY, Va. — Emory & Henry men’s and women’s swim teams have been busy at home over the last couple weeks. On Nov. 1, the Wasps hosted a non-conference double dual meet against King University (Bristol, Tenn.) and Milligan College (Elizabethton, Tenn.). The men lost to King and Milligan, 40-158 and 50-148, respectively.

The Emory & Henry Women's Basketball team will open the season against Averett this Friday, Nov. 8, and head Coach Jaclyn Dickens and her girls could not be more ready. “We had a short ending last season which wasn’t expected. It was not the way we wanted to finish, and we still have that taste in our mouths,” said Dickens. “So we wanna get back to that point where we should have been.”
Brittany Hall, Sports Writer EMORY, Va. — The Emory & Henry men's soccer team concluded their season with a 6-10-2, 0-8 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) record. The Wasps scored 34 goals and averaged 12.4 shots-per game. Sophomore forward Jeff Hurlock led the team in goals, scoring seven on the season, while senior defender Massimo Tager trailed with four goals.
Chris Desalvo, Sport Writer WINCHESTER, Va. — The Emory & Henry Wasps traveled up to Winchester last Saturday to face off against the Shenandoah Hornets in an epic Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) battle. The Wasps came out of the contest victorious thanks to an impressive five forced turnovers in their favor, and now E&H is flying very high as the team’s winning streak gets increased to five games long.
